I woke up this morning and looked in on the Robin Family and all were gone but one. I went and got the camera and look who was there, no one. The babies were getting fairly big and look like they barely fit in the nest. Two seemed to be a crowd. I 'm glad we were able to see nature at work. This is one thing I hope made an impression on the kids. While saying that I kind of was thinking "how it will be when the kids leave their "nest"?

It's day 23, we've seen the chicks break themselves out into this new world. They've known what to do. They have made it through wild wind, and hard rain, yet they have been very well taken care of. We wonder how much longer we have to enjoy natures company. I know Dora loves watching this family.

Chicks, you are growing SO fast!

I guess they are officially robins now!

Tori, took this picture with the little one looking right into the camera. She has been so excited to check on them every day she gets home from school.

The chicks are looking pretty grown up.

I wonder how much longer they'll stay in the nest.

Tori was so excited to look at the birds today. We went shopping yesterday and got binoculars for the kids to use. They are getting interested in nature now that we have Robins at our window. This is right up Tori's ally. I had to take this picture though. This is our TORI, Miss Nature.

Mommy Robin usually flies away when I stand at the window, or she turns her back and ignores me. Today she was just standing on the edge of the nest, admiring her little ones, and instead of flying away, she turned and looked right at me.

Then, she gave a horrendous loud shriek and flew off!

The chicks are looking so healthy. We have noticed that they look different. One has a stripe of yellow feathers that go from the center of the head to the far right of the right eye. The other is a bit more little and has no stripe.

This was a day that the little ones slept. Not much has gone on....Sleep

The feeding begins! The parents have done well taking the chick that fell. The greatest part of that is the one that fell didn't get hurt. I also noticed today that the chicks eyes were open. They've grown so much.

This was an amazing day. Last night we had a big storm come by. The winds and rain were crazy. Geoff got up this morning and checked on the Robin family. We were sad to know that the tree had fell over almost. He noticed that there were two chicks on the ground. He asked me to help him tie the tree up for the hope they could be safe. I was looking under the tree and found the two chicks. I noticed that one was moving and the other wasn't. I picked up the little live babe and put it in the nest hoping that the mommy would be ok with me holding her child, and would accept it after all it had just went through. We tied the tree up to stand tall, soaked all we could say was wow. Later that day, Tori wanted to bury the chick and I let her. She was sad but knew that the mommy tried all that she could.
Later on we had the view of mommy and Daddy feeding their chicks. To take these pictures I had to stand on the chair for about 10-15 mins. Mommy and Daddy were very cautious. I didn't want to scare them and have them abandon the babies. I was very worried about the one that was saved.

This was amazing! Seeing these babies so active, eating and sleeping. We realized that after a few days that the forth egg wasn't going to hatch. It was a new lesson that had to be taught to the kids when questions were asked. All I could do was give the truth, but make it a good lesson, not just all sad. "At least there are three children out of the four. It could of been worse" That was Tori speaking with a surety.
When neither adult is around, Tori and I ran inside to try to grab a photo. While on my shoulders, Tori got great photos. What I noticed right away is that there are no left over egg shells, either in the nest or on the ground under the nest. It's amazing that the birds would clean this up.

This evening I looked out and was very excited to see that "Life" has begun. Mommy Robin did what she was suppose to. Geoff and I were excited to know that the kids were enjoying this as much as we were. Me being a mom, I was humbled knowing that God has created these birds, and that in nature both the mom and dad Robins were helping and taking care of their blessings.
I do have to admit the thought was in the back of my mind of "Ouch, that must of hurt!"
